Agustin Merlos felicitous over hard-fought win against Alegria in the Argentina Open Polo Championship
Estancia Grande Sancor Seguros displayed a superb show, registering a win over Alegria Crowne Plaza in the 118th version of the Argentina Open Polo Championship.
Agustin Merlos was the real hero of the game who enjoyed glory thirteen times in the eight-chukka game.
The significant aspect of the game was that they played only for victory, Agustin Merlos claimed while speaking to Livingpolo.com after the match. In his view, they contested the game in a good way, not only the attacks but other areas also.
He explained that there were many elements that deserved credit as they helped them in achieving their aims in the game. They also analyzed the weaknesses they showed in the game, he added.
He observed, “Today we played without Sebastian, who is suspended. Mi brother Pite replaced him and I think he was the best in our team, but it takes time to get used to the changes, because he's a different type of player”.
Replying to a query, he informed that he was not sure when Sebastian Merlos will rejoin the squad.
In his views, the main objective is to earn a victory, it does not matter if one makes it with a big or a small margin.
In the meantime, Francisco Bensadon, the key player of Alegria Crowne Plaza, also spoke with the media after the game. He appeared quite depressed and regretful after losing the game by a couple of scores.
He shared his feeling, saying that the defeat was more aching in this case as they were in a position to win the match.
He stated that the win slipped away from their hands when Pite Merlos scored a classic goal. They attempted to fend Estancia Grande off, but a single moment changed the entire scenario abruptly.
He underlined, “The fact is we played really well, against a team with the same level as ours, but we were winning the match and we lost it. They went all-out and things turned out well for them”.
He further stated they learned many things from the game they did wrongly in the tournament. The dazzling polo pro maintained that they are working hard to finish the tournament by winning the final game.
