okay so the first time i took it, i got a 1710. i just got my scores back today and i recieved:

CR - 540

Writing - 610

Math - 610

which is a 1760

I really don't know whether i should worry, because I want to do music education, and i know my auditions are the most important things. But is it good enough for schools like University of Delaware, Syracuse, Fairfield, Fordham, Penn State, Moravian, Providence, TCNJ, and NYU (thats my reach school, im relying on a really good audition).

I also took SAT IIs and i got a 670 on the Math 1 and a 740 on the Spanish.

should i take it a third time?

  1. Ignore him! Thats is great! Fantastic! Well Done!

  2. I wouldn't worry too much about your SATs since you're going for music education and like you said the auditions are the most important thing.  Your scores are pretty good, you improved from last time which is a good thing.  If you don't want to, don't take it again, but because you want to go to such  competitive schools, I would suggest taking it once more.

    Good luck!

  3. the 1760 is good... but not the rest of them.....lol..  the highest score is 2400, so if you was to calculate those low scores, you would probably get a low D or an F...?

    God Bless!

  4. Yes you should give it one more shot. I went to Fordham and the average score was a 1240 on just math and verbal a year before I left. I don't know what their new scores are like. NYU is a really big reach unless you have something like a 1300 on math and verbal and a pretty high writing score. They are kinda artsy down there. Good Luck.

  5. A 1760 is a pretty good score, but check a site like collegeboard to see the average SAT scores for the schools you are looking at.  If you are scared it is not high enough then retake the test.

Your SAT 2 scores seem to be high enough too

  6. That's pretty terrible.  McDonalds here you come.

  7. Um..............Yellow!

  8. Don't listen to that jerk.

SOOO NOT TRUE! 1500 is average and so you are above average. I am not sure about those schools, but you can check out the average score of their accepted students on a bunch of different websites. Check out Princeton Review.

I don't know about applying for music school though, definitely not my area of expertise. But remember that if you have to you can take it again, some schools will even add together you best scores from each test!

  9. The average SAT score is 1,350 - You did better then me (but I still got above average).  I've heard that most people's scores increase by 100 the second time they take it, so you might be stuck in the 1,700-1,800 range.  I know I'm looking to get at least an 1800 my second time, but hopefully better.

You can find the average SAT score that those colleges let in on their websites...just google them.

  10. You did pretty well.

  11. i made a 1710 my second time (highest score) so your's isn't a bad score. only take it a third time if you are sure that you'll do better because otherwise it's just a waste of money and time
