I couldn't believe that Grandparent's day is quickly approaching.

Will you get your baby's grandparents a gift?

Any gift suggestions?

My son is 6 months old and I'd like to do something special - they've been so helpful!

  1. Ok, heres my honest opinion, from experience this past weekend. I asked this question and got the suggestion to do a mold as well . i loved the idea so i went out and bought 4 kits at $5 a piece (my parents, in-laws, my grandparents, hubby's grandparents) anyway, we tried and my 8  mo old just would not stay still. the one we got had the mold first, then you pour the plaster into the mold. she was not able to hold still long enough for the mold to harden. basically, we wasted all 4 after a bunch of tries. so dont get the one with teh mold. if you can jsut stick his foot in plaster, tehn tahts better.

i am now planning on printing out a grandparents poem gluing it on cardstock, putting a picture of my daughter and her foot print with a stamp pad. i chucked the mold idea

  2. the little guy's hand and footprint on a stepping stone (ie).  A lasting gift.  I have my kids stones in my flower garden.  I love them!

  3. I have to laugh because I was frantically searching the internet for gift ideas this morning :) I never did find anything that I'm interested in doing yet, but my kids are a bit older - too young to really make things and too old to not try.

My parents and in-laws prefer baby-related things verses adult gifts, so we make crafts. What I did when mine was a baby was make hand and foot print flowers. They are so cute, and what' grandparent can resist hand prints?

    How to make the flowers:

Petals are handprints - use a brightly colored ink pad and make them go around in a circle, leaving an open middle section.

Stem is feet - green ink pad - have right foot going down, left foot going up - the toes meet in the middle for leaves off the steam.

In the center of the flower place a circular head shot of your baby.

Good luck! There are so many great ideas for that age, I look forward to reading what everyone else is doing!

  4. Maybe a foot print mold.  Our family has never celebrated grandparents day, so I will not be celebrating it.  If anything I'll do a card.

  5. ok when is it and i would have to agree with the foot print and or the hand print mold....

  6. As a grandparent, i have to say that the best gift my Son and Daughter could have ever given me is my granddaughter.

We live 650 miles away so every picture is a blessing, we have over 200, via Internet.

Other than time with her, the thing that I would want most is something from her,

  7. a picture of the baby in a  picture frame ( 8x10) large

and more time to spend with their grandbaby

  8. I don't know what your budget is so I can think of several things:

You could buy a kit and make hand and/or foot prints of your baby.

Take them out for a nice family dinner.

Electronic picture frame which you can update for them with new pics every so often.

Your most beautiful picture framed of when your son was a newborn.

Printed picture album (you can have it done on lots of websites)

    I hope this helped.
