Ahmadi Saman advances into main round of Indonesia International Challenge – Badminton News
Malaysia’s spirited player, Ahmadi Saman, remained consistent in playing positive badminton in Men’s Singles qualifying round and secured a berth in the main round of Prim-A Indonesia International Challenge 2013, which is in progress
in Indonesia.
In the last match of the qualifying round, the in-form Ahmadi had to dig into his arsenal and he managed to show exit to Indonesia’s Ryanivano Hutabarat in a thrilling rubber-set contest on Tuesday, July 2.
The Malaysian shuttler could not find a good start, as he lost the opening game straight away. However, he found a wonderful rhythm in the following sets and remained successful in winning this qualifying round battle in three
games, with a 19-21, 21-12 and 21-18 score line on the board.
Meanwhile, the lower ranked shuttler started his journey well by winning the opening game with a close margin. However, he failed to maintain his speed in the remaining sets and lost this 70-minute contest with a close margin.
In the first game, both shuttlers played with tremendous speed and progressed while staying neck-to-neck. They were aggressive in the execution of strokes and remained close until the break.
After the interval, this interesting match progressed in the similar close fashion as both contestants played to their best skills. However, it was Ahmadi who failed to control the pace in the ending points and lost the game with
a tight score of 19-21.
In the second game, Ahmadi entered into the court with a different mindset, as he played aggressively from the opening points and took a wonderful lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Malaysian man continued showing up his dominating skills in the arena. He did not let his Indonesian rival to dictate the pace this time and managed to end up the set with a huge 21-12 score on the board.
In the deciding game, the Indonesian shuttler also elevated his play and remained close to his Malaysian opponent until the end of first half.
In the concluding part, the lofty Ahmadi increased his speed and kept his rival moving around by playing with incredible variations. He won this final game with a close difference of 21-18 and emerged as the winner in this sensational
fight.
