Question:

Ahmadiya Muslims: Can you answer a Q? Just curious, no insults

Hi, before I begin, I have an impersonator/imposter on yahoo answers, so don't believe an anti-islamic word coming from her anti-islamic mouth.

My question is, what are your beliefs? Some Ahmadiya muslims beliee Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was the messiah, some say he was the 'metaphorical messiah' (I don't really understand that concept, so an explanation would be super)

Help me clear some misconceptions up here:

Why do you think Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was the messiah?

If he is messiah, shouldn't the world's problems be over by now?

What of the 30 'false prophets' our beloved Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) mentioned?

Is Mirza Ghulam Ahmad considered the 'successor of the Messiah?' and if so, what source do Amhadiya Muslims use to back that claim up?

Do Ahmadiya Muslims believe the following were revelations from Allah (SWT)?

Avesta of Zoroastrianism, Vedas and Baghavat-Gita of Hinduism, Pali and Tripitaka of Buddhism, Siddhanta and Angas of Jainism, Tao Te Ching of Taoism, K’Ings and Lun Yu of Confucianism, Kojiki and Nihongi of the Shinto Faith, Guru Granth Sahib of Sikhism and if so, why? Because there were only 4 revelations sent. Zaboor, Qur'an, Injeel and Tawrat

Is Mirza Ghulam Ahmad considered a Prophet to Ahmadiya Muslims?

To Ahmadiya Muslims, is h**l just a temporary place (like purgatory for Catholics) where they are 'cleansed'?

Jesus will ascend down with Imam Mahdi, according to Sunni Islam, and a prophecy of the Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him). what is the view of Ahmadi Muslims on this?

Do you believe that Jesus did die on the cross, to be revived later on?

Was the second coming of Jesus metaphorical for Ahmadi Muslims?

Is Mirza Ghulam Ahmad considered a Prophet in only the metaphoricalm sense, and others believe he is a Prophet, but second to Muhammed?

Do you believe Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is Imam Mahdi?

And lastly, why are Ahmadi Muslims not considered Muslims by mainstream Islam?

That's all for now, and any Ahmadiya Muslims with any more info, please feel free to email me using my profile

I'm not being mean or anything, I'm just curious. I was asking my parents yesterday, and they said Ahmadiya Muslims are not Muslims. But here on yahoo answers, there is a really pious (from his answers and words) Muslim, who believes in Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, so I'm really not willing to accept my parent's explanation. I'd rather find out from ahmadiya muslims themselves

  1. AA Sister.  Sorry it took me so long to get to this question.  I didn't see it in the list.  You've asked a lot of questions and most certainly I can answer every single one of them.  By the sheer number of questions it'll take me a moment to type it up.  I'll get the answers to you here shortly :)

My question is, what are your beliefs?

Our beliefs are the same as what the Holy Prophet (sa) taught.  We have the same Kalima Shahada and accept the first 4 Khalifas as rightly guided.

Some Ahmadiya muslims beliee Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was the messiah, some say he was the 'metaphorical messiah' (I don't really understand that concept, so an explanation would be super)

All Ahmadi Muslims believe that Hazrat Ahmad (as) was the same Imam Mahdi and Messih as foretold by the Holy Prophet (sa) and the Holy Qur'an.  He fulfilled the prophacies in the Qur'an and Hadeeth.

Help me clear some misconceptions up here:

Why do you think Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was the messiah?

If he is messiah, shouldn't the world's problems be over by now?

We believe he was the Messiah because he fulfilled the prophacies about the Messiah.  As far as the worlds problems being over, this was the exact objection the people had who rejected Hazrat Isa (as).  See, no one can be forced to accept the Messiah.  There is no compulsion in religion.  Those who have accepted Hazrat Ahmad (as) are not faced with the problems the rest of the Ummah and world are facing.  Rather, they are under the protection of Allah and they are unified by a Khalifa, just as the early Muslims.

What of the 30 'false prophets' our beloved Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) mentioned?

I answered this question earlier to another person who asked.  http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

Also, even before Hazrat Ahmad (as) made his claim, the scholars of Islam already agreed that the 30 Liars had come and gone, and the time of the Messiah was now here.

Hazrat Ahmad (as) is considered the Messiah and Mahdi himself.  We back this claim by his fulfillment of prophacies from the Qur'an and the Hadeeth.  I can offer these fulfillments in another question but I want to make sure I answer all these questions first.

Ahmadi Muslims believe that the 4 revelations you mentioned were from Allah, but we do not beleive they were the only ones from Allah.  Allah says in 10:48, "And for every people there is a Messenger. So when their Messenger comes, it is judged between them with equity, and they are not wronged."  Therefore, if every people had a Messenger, it means every people had a message.  Just because those books are lost or corrupted, doesn't mean they weren't from Allah.

The only perfect and final book is the Holy Qur'an.

Yes.  The Prophet Muhammad (sa) said in a Hadeeth in Sahi Muslim that the Messiah will be a Prophet of Allah.  Therefore, Hazrat Ahmad (as) is indeed a Prophet of Allah because he is the Messiah.

I don't want to compare us to catholics.  But yes, according to the Qur'an and the Hadeeth, only Heaeven is eternal, not h**l.  I explain this in detail in this question, even though the questioner chose someone else for the best answer.

We believe, based on the Qur'an and the Hadeeth, that Isa (as) died a natural death and will not return to this world.  We beleive the descent is a spiritual descent, not literall.  We do not believe Jesus (as) died on the cross, but that he died after completing his mission to preach to the Jewish tribes of Israel, which he did.  I can give you a detailed email regarding the proofs of Isa's (as) death, but the answers I've given below in the link will provide a brief explanation.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

The Prophet (sa) made the coming of the Messiah metaphorical to when Isa (as) came for the Jews because the Messiah was to revive Islam, the way Isa (as) revived Judaism.  It was never meant to be taken as literal as the Qur'an and hadeeth make clear that Isa (as) has already died.

Hazrat Ahmad (as) is a subordinate Prophet to Hazrat Muhammad (sa).  Muhammad (sa) is without question the greatest of all prophets and the last law bearing prophet.  Meaning, no new law or new Qur'an can come.

Do you believe Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is Imam Mahdi?

    Yes.

In 1974 our third Khalifa met with the Pakistani Parliiment who had a member of every one of the 72 sects of Islam.  We presented them our arguments and debated with them.  They could not refute a single one of our debates and now refuse to publish the results of those debates.  Here are the arguments to which they had no response.

    http://www.alislam.org/library/books/mah...

Despite not being able to respond, they went against the Holy Qur'an which forbids calling anyone a kafir, and called us kafir.  May Allah have mercy.

If you have any more questions, feel free to email me and let me know! :)

Allah bless you for your desire to seek out truth.  May Allah always be your guide.  Masha'allah you are a model of how a Muslim should seek truth.

love for all, hatred for none
