The Nigerian national revealed that he is not afraid of competition and reiterated his UEFA Champions League desire.
CSKA Moscow completed the signing of Ahmed Musa from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VVV-Venlo-c40915 last week, and the promising winger has expressed his delight upon the transfer after penning a five-year contract with the Russian outfit.
Though the Moscow-based club have not confirmed the transfer fee, Musa reportedly cost them a staggering 10 million pounds.
The 19-year-old forward admitted that he needs to work hard to claim a starting berth under the leadership of Leonid Slutsky, amid high expectation from his debut Russian Premier League campaign.
But while the Nigerian forward was full of praise for the Russian outfit, Musa thanked Venlo for playing a key role in developing him as a professional footballer and providing him with the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions
League.
"Venlo gave me the opportunity to prove myself in Europe and people treated me with love and I'll never forget it.” Musa thanked Venlose trots fans.
Musa admitted that he has now come to a bigger league, the Russian top division, and assured the fans of helping the Koni reclaim the Russian Premier League title this season.
“This is the next step in my career, it’s a bigger stage. I may find it difficult claiming a starting role because CSKA have good players.
“They have good players on the flanks who are high-speed performers. But I'm not afraid to fight for a starting line-up role.” The African Youth Championship winner said.
The Armeytsy are currently at the second spot on the league table and trail Zenit St. Petersburg by six points.
Aside from the domestic league, the Russian outfit has had a good Champions League campaign. They managed to reach the round-of-16 after defeating the European giants, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan, in the last group stage encounter.
"CSKA will give me a chance to play in Europe with other big players," Musa said
