Out of favour Pakistani opening batsman, Ahmed Shehzad, has vowed to make a comeback to the national team soon, and revealed that he plans to meet the new chairman of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397, to clear any misunderstandings.
Shehzad was dropped from the Pakistani team after the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Intikhab-Alam-c64380, who was the manager of Pakistan team during that tour, wrote in his tour report that Shehzad
lacks discipline and questioned his family background.
The right-handed batsman from Lahore, who represents Habib Bank Limited in the domestic cricket of Pakistan, has been performing brilliantly in national cricket. He started off brilliantly in the on-going season of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
Shehzad is particularly happy with his brilliant knock against Abbottabad, as he scored a match-winning hundred. The right-handed batsman claims that he is in tremendous form and is raring to play for Pakistan in International cricket. Shehzad further complained
that he has always performed well for the country but yet he is out of the national team.
He said, “I made 161 against Abbottabad earlier this month as we chased down 367 to win in the fourth innings in a tough run chase, so I’m really happy with my form. I feel that I have always performed when given the opportunity.”
The opening batsman believes that his axing from the national troop was on reasons beyond cricket, and hopes to clarify his position after meeting the new Chairman PCB, Zaka Ashraf.
“Performance was never the issue. I feel the issue for my dropping from the team was something else and even I don’t know exactly what this issue was. I am determined to go and meet the new Chairman and discuss my situation with him soon,” Shehzad added.
The best way for Shehzad to make a comeback to the national team is to continue to perform exceptionally well in domestic cricket and force the selectors to give him another opportunity.
