Discarded Pakistani opening batsman, Ahmed Shahzad has expressed extreme disappointment on being dropped from the national team because of disciplinary reasons.
The youngster has been a little inconsistent with the bat during his career but he scored a couple of One Day International hundreds this year for the Green Shirts. However, he has been dropped from the national team’s tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 and has also been
deprived of a central contract.
In his official report for the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Intikhab-Alam-c64380 stated that Shehzad needs counselling as he belongs to a ‘disturbed background’. He was accused of backbiting within the team and destroying the dressing room atmosphere.
Young Shehzad said in disappointment that the management should have talked about him personally but there was no reason to indulge his family background in this matter. Shehzad claimed that he belongs to respectable family.
He said, “I am here to take all criticism but there is no need to bring my family into it. We belong to a Pathan family and we do not tarnish our family's reputation. I don't know what I did, but if the management thinks that I have done something wrong,
they should talk to me about it.”
There is no doubt about the talent of the youngster but the right-handed batsman has a history of discipline problems. A number of managers at the junior level reported to PCB about his behaviour in past.
Ahmed believes that he has a bright future in front of him and he will continue to work hard to cement his place in the national side. The right hander is going to represent Lahore http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 in the upcoming domestic T20 tournament in September.
“The disappointment is obviously there after being dropped from the squad and the central contract list. But I'm young and have a lot of cricket ahead of me. I will continue to play at domestic level and keep myself up there with the performance. The rest
is up to the selectors," Shehzad said.
It is a pity that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 has produced a number of extremely talented players, who failed to prolong their international careers because of problems with their attitude.
