Ahmed Shehzad vows to make a comeback in the Pakistan team – Cricket News Update
The discarded Pakistani opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ahmed-Shehzad-c42359, has vowed to make a comeback to the national team after realising the mistakes he has made in his career.
Shehzad came through the ranks of junior cricket in the country and was widely considered a talented young batsman.
He made his debut for Pakistan in 2009 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 and the West Indies.
However, he was dropped from the team after the tour of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 last year, as the team management was not happy with his conduct and disciplinary problems. This was nothing new, as he had faced disciplinary actions at the junior level as well. His
career so far has been blighted by controversies.
Shehzad has been playing well in domestic cricket since the last one year and his performances in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) were nothing short of exceptional.
The young cricketer from Lahore admits that he made mistakes earlier in his career but he is keen to make amends. Shehzad is eager to play internationally once again, and wants to cement a place in the Pakistan team, given that the selectors decide to offer
him another chance.
Shehzad said, “I’ve learnt from my mistakes and want to develop my batting and to overcome the mistakes I have been making. Whenever the selectors wish to call me up I will be ready to serve my country. My long term aim is to break back into the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755
side and play for my country for a long period of time.”
While talking to Pakpassion, Shehzad further added that he has learnt a lot about the game while playing the BPL and wants to replicate those performances for his country.
“Yes the BPL was very satisfying. I thought I batted pretty well and I hope that when I get my chance for Pakistan, I can bat as well as I did in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747,” he added.
