Having earned enormous praise during the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the South Korean star, Ahn Jung-Hwan, is yet to decide on his international career. The player, though, will leave the Chinese club, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dalian-Shide-c38895, at the end of this season.
Ahn was one of the stars of 2002 World Cup where he helped his country reach the quarter-final stage. The midfielder scored against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 during extra-time, dumping them out of the competition.
The player, since then, has failed to remain consistent and as a result lost his place in the starting XI. In spite of his inconsistent approach, Ahn is still known as ‘the Lord of the Ring’ in Korea.
Hwan tied knots with Dalian Shinde in 2009 and has been an integral member of the Chinese outfit ever since. The club officials, though, have confirmed Ahn’s intentions of parting ways with them at the end of current campaign.
The 2002 World Cup star is still undecided about his future in international football. It is reported that the versatile player will retire from international football but continue playing the K-League.
Moro Sports Korea, the player’s management agency, while talking to Chosun libo, enthused, "This will be Ahn's last season with Dalian. He will not re-sign with Dalian, and will either return to the K-League or retire."
Ahn himself admitted of his retirement plans from international football especially after going out of favour in 2008. The 35-year-old hasn’t tasted international football in three years and has rightly decided draw curtains on his career.
Ahn earned his South Korean debut in 1997 and has 71 international caps to his name until now. He scored 17 goals during the process.
