Ai Goto finds perfect start in Women’s Singles first round at Japan Open – Badminton news
Japan’s impressive player Ai Goto put up staggering show and cheered her local fans as she reached into Women’s Singles second round after showing strong performance against Singapore’s Mingtian Fu in first round contest at the Yonex Japan Open Super Series
2012 at Tokyo, Japan, on Wednesday, September 19.
The higher ranked Goto, who is seeded at number eight in Women’s Singles main draw, played to her maximum potential and remained successful in crushing Mingtian in a completely controlled way.
Goto was in tremendous form as she got inspiration from her home crowd and easily registered her mark over Mingtian in straight games with a crushing margin by working well for just 31 minutes on court.
The lower ranked Mingtian, on the other hand, could not play positive badminton in first set and lost it easily. However, she also displayed a few glimpses of her remarkable skill in the second game but failed to overpower her rival in the ending points
and lost the match in straight sets with a reasonable score.
The opening game was one-sided when Mingtian failed to show her brilliance and remained struggling to return the impressive shots of her rival in opening half.
In the meanwhile, Goto played with precision and remained dominant all the way to set up a wonderful gap until the mid-game break.
After the interval, Goto remained positive and consistent in her impressive play on court and she faced no trouble in wrapping up the opening set with a smashing 21-9 score on the board.
In the second game, the Singaporean shuttler also played positive badminton and troubled her local opponent while remaining close on score board at the opening stage.
The local shuttler tried her best but failed to manage a comfortable gap until the end of first half.
After the break, Goto started to play positive and safe badminton and did not let her challenger to put up strong show.
Japanese shuttler was in commanding position and remained successful in winning the second game with a margin of 21-19.
Goto got victory in this first round match in straight games with a dominating 21-9 and 21-19 score on the board.
