Ai Miyazato: Most favourite player at Evian Masters?
Evian Masters is just about to start and many experts have their hopes pinned on Ai Miyazato, the defending champion.
Evian Masters 2012 is very special for a number of reasons. This will be the final edition of the tournament as a regular event on the LPGA calendar. Next year onwards, it will be a major tournament and will be played on an improved course.
Being the defending champion, Miyazato is the hot favourite of many fans and experts. She has been in great form so far and has won two tournaments in 2012.
The first win came in April when she played in LPGA Lotte Championship Presented by J Golf. Her next win was at Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Presented by P&G.
This performance coupled with eight top-10 finishes so far makes Ai Miyazato a very likely winner of this year’s Evian Masters. However, this year 110 other women golfers will also compete for the trophy and some of them are very good.
Ai Miyazato will face top competition from world’s number one, Yani Tseng. Tseng is looking for a prestigious trophy and this will suit her fine. Although Tseng is not up to her usual top class game this year, she could regain her form anytime and pose a
serious threat to Miyazato.
Na Yeon Choi is another name Miyazato has to watch out for. Choi has won the recent US Women Open and the victory has given her substantial confidence. Choi has a great record at the Evian Masters and will be looking to add the title to her growing list
of victories.
Suzann Pettersen will prove to be another formidable opponent in the Evian Les Bains. She is on top of her game and is looking forward to the event eagerly.
In addition to these three, there will be a host of players who will want the trophy for their first or second pro win.
Ai Miyazato is a wonderful player who has been going strong so far. Many experts are hopeful that she will score a win. However, the field is also studded with other stars with a similar idea in mind.
