Ai Miyazato to take on rivals at Virginia

Japanese Ai Miyazato, who got off to a stunning start in the 2012 season, is desperately seeking to end her brief victory drought, with the Kingsmill Championship 2012 set to start from September 6-9, at Williamsburg,
Virginia, United States.
Miyazato is one of Japan’s most talented players and has been making her mark on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, but winning her third professional victory in the current season has become
her biggest goal.
The Japanese star participated in the CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012 with plenty of confidence but could not stand her round and ended up missing the cut. Her performance in the first two rounds was below average
as she missed plenty of good chances to score.
The opening round saw Miyazato make lousy strokes on most of the holes and she could not judge the ball well on the putting green. The LPGA titan started the first round with a clear plan, parring the first
five holes. She then drained her first birdie on the par-5 sixth but bogeyed the next hole.
On the back nine, her performance remained as shaky as it was at the start. She carded a bogey on the 11th and a double bogey on the difficult par-3 12th.
The second round went as bad as the first one, as the Japanese prodigy carded three bogeys and just one birdie.
Commentators said that despite making a good start in the current season, which saw Miyazato rack up two titles, the professional golfer faltered in some of the recent tournaments.
Miyazato won her last title at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship where she beat her nearest rival by one stroke.
“I thought if I can make birdie in the last, then I think it's going to be playoff because I watched the scoreboard and Inbee and Mika was 11-under after 17, so if they made an eagle, then I think it's fair
enough because I, you know, I didn't feel anything, but I felt like I definitely need a birdie on the last hole,” she said.
“I think last year I was pretty close to winning, I think I'm one shot behind or something and I made bogey on 17, too”.
