Aiaam Al Wafa prevalent in the Chepstow Annual Members Handicap (Division I) at Chepstow
The Chepstow Annual Members Handicap (Division I) will be held at Chepstow over a mile, four furlongs and twenty-three yards on Tuesday, 29th May. Taking up the challenge today is a line-up of twelve three-year-olds and will invade the track for conquering the £1,617 prize money.
Aiaam Al Wafa, Authorized’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare, State Secret, dominates the line-up with the most appropriate credentials. She has raced nine times ever since the new season shot off and only through the till yet second last try did she claim the first race of her career.
She cracked into the new season on 18th January in the Crowhurst Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Lingfield over a mile. The race was won by Samedi while Millibar settled as the runner up. The 7/4 favourite of the race, Burke’s Rock, ended fourth on the field of nine.
Phil McEntee trained remained winless for the next six races and was also unsuccessful throughout the 2011 season.
She finally struck the Annual Badge £264 On Sale Now Claiming Stakes on 16th April at Windsor over a mile and two furlongs. She shoved the 11/8 favourite of the race, Priestley’s Reward, into the runner up’s slot.
Coming at terms with the third position behind the winner was Masters Club.
She could not keep up with the performance which dwindled right in the next race as she scored second in the 32Redpoker.Com Handicap on 24th April at Wolverhampton over a mile and four furlongs.
The race was won by the 11/8 favourite, Ukrainian, who led the track by four lengths. Concluding the race third in line was My New Angel.
Having won after such a long drought and then scoring a second has brought Aiaam Al Wafa at a platform of decent ranking. She has proved herself once by dominating a race and has brought her ability under the lime light.
She will need to look out for Courtesy Call and Stickleback as both of them got placed in their most recent attempts. The line-up of the race is pretty harmless and Aiaam Al Wafa should exploit the chance wisely.
