Question:

Aid for Burma after cyclone...?

Dumb question perhaps but borne of frustration. Why can't the international aid groups just fly in the relief supplies without the Juntas permission...if the Junta lacks the ability get to the area to offer the people aid, how could they put up any resistance to what would be an "invasion" by the aid groups. They could do flyovers and drop supplies instead of landing anywhere. Issues of respecting borders of countries will of course be offered, but 100,000 people are in need here and their government has so far been able to do little for them.

  1. Maybe we should go over there and kick a little butt and put Aung San Suu Kyi in charge.

  2. The Junta wants to control the aid to make it look as if was available only through them.  This is a common ploy for absolute dictators that do not care about the welfare of their people.
