Aikideau and Broadbackbob to lock horns in Wings For Life UK Novices´ Chase
Aikideau will be looking to upset Broadbackbob in the Wings For Life UK Novices´ Chase at Plumpton in England on Monday, November 19, 2012. Both stallions have got the ability to be competitive, but the latter has an edge because of his consistent performances
in races over hurdles.
Stamina will be the key in today’s 2 mile 4 furlong contest, which is scheduled to kick off at 13:20 GMT. There has been some rain overnight, which will make the conditions more testing for the runners.
At the moment, the going is good to soft, but there is a possibility that things might improve with the passage of time. A total of nine entries have been listed for the class-3 race and the one who takes the top spot will walk away with a cash prize of
£5,848 in the end.
The punters will definitely risk more bets in favour of Broadbackbob, as he really likes running in this format. It will not be easy for his rivals to prevent him from taking the top spot at the end of the day.
Although, the talented runner made his debut in 2010, yet he does not have a lot of experience, as he has been taking part in selective events. He likes running on a rain affected ground, thus his confidence will be good today.
During the 2012 season, the Nicky Henderson’s trainee has appeared in just one race and he managed to be quite competitive in it. He finished as a runner up, but his team would have expected a better result from him, as he was given the highest odds for
victory. He will be looking to meet the expectations of everyone this time around.
Coming back to Aikideau, he has been delivering some solid results during this year and his confidence will be good. He has made his team proud since the start of the season and will look to continue being competitive at this level.
The five-year-old gelding has always enjoyed running at Plumpton, which will definitely help him get the attention of the punters. He has earned a couple of victories in his career and both came at this venue under jockey, Leighton Aspell, who will once
again be partnering him today.
