Aim on blackberry pearl? data usage or not

i just bought a blackberry pearl and im looking for aim but it isn't there. ive been looking around and it says i need a data plan and from there i can download it for free and that while using aim it counts toward data usage instead of txt plans.

if this is the case, should i get the data usage only which is 30?

if not is there a way i can download aim with the messages counting for my txting plan instead of data usage?

Well the AIM that Blackberry offers works with Data and not SMS, but I know some carriers offer AIM that works over SMS. These are some of the ones that work over Data: Ramble, BeeJive, Blackberry AIM and Ebuddy.
