High School State Championships
Aimee Fischer of Lincoln Southwest and Jack Turman of Papillion-La Vista impressed the aquatic crowd by pocketing gold medals of Girls and Boys 500yard freestyle respectively on day two of the Nebraska High School State Championships for Boys and Girls in
Lincoln on February 28.
Fischer presented her invincible efforts in the 500yard discipline and made her way to the top of medal rostrum for gold medal. She faced no trouble in claiming the title of the event as she remained comfortably ahead of her competitors throughout the race.
With her persistent efforts, she ended her swim in a fascinating time of 5 minutes and 07.74 seconds for gold medal. She was followed by Alexis Altmaier of Lincoln East, who was nearly two seconds behind her and seized second finest spot of the event with
an effort of 5 minutes and 09.10 seconds.
The third position of the discipline was secured by Kalyn Dorheim of Omaha Westside, who pocketed bronze medal of the race with the timing of 5 minutes and 14.29 seconds. With her alluring efforts, she managed a lead of almost two seconds over Mary Luddy
of Millard North, who earned fourth position of the discipline by posting 5 minutes and 16.42 seconds on the board for fourth position.
After a while, the arena witnessed mind-blowing effort of Turman in Boys 500yard freestyle, who shattered hopes of his rivals with a fascinating effort of 4 minutes and 42.79 seconds for gold medal.
The champion remained almost one second away from Alexander Kuszak of Lincoln East, who accomplished silver medal of the race by reporting 4 minutes and 43.49 seconds for silver medal.
He was followed by his teammate, Ean Kiddoo, who claimed third position of the race with the timing of 4 minutes and 51.45 seconds. Kiddoo was trailed by Vladislav Blazhievskiy of Lincoln Southwest, who remained fourth fastest finisher with the timing of
4 minutes and 51.53 seconds.
In addition, the session completed after the conclusion of all scheduled events whereas the podium finishers collected medals for their immaculate efforts after the completion of the session.
