Aine Matsushita clinches Girls 100m butterfly gold – 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet
Aine Matsushita of Itoman clinched gold medal of the Girls 100m butterfly on second day of the 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet at the Golden West Swim Club in Golden West College on Saturday, September 22.
Matsushita served notice of her talent in the double lap butterfly event, where she overpowered her opponents in a comfortable manner and captured the title. She remained prominently ahead of her toughest challenger and sprinted her way towards the wall
for the crown.
Her gruelling pace remained almost full body length ahead of her toughest challenger and tapped the wall for the title by clocking a time of 1 minute and 01.32 seconds.
The gold medallist was traced by Janet Y Hu of NCSA, who remained 0.76 seconds apart and secured silver medal of the race by producing a time of 1 minute and 02.08 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Miku Onodera of Itoman, who was 0.06 seconds apart and made her way to the victory stand as third position holder by reporting a time of 1 minute and 02.14 seconds.
Onodera was traced by Corrigan C McIlmail of NCSA, who was 0.85 seconds behind and finished fourth in the event by submitting a time of 1 minute and 02.99 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Konoha Shinada of Itoman, who stayed 0.53 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing end by touching the wall with a timing of 1 minute and 03.52 seconds.
Shinada was chased by Mickayla Hinkle of NCSA, who remained full body length apart and tapped the wall for sixth position by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 04.30 seconds.
Hinkle was chased by Kana Daigo of Itoman, who was 0.11 seconds away from here foregoing finisher and posted a time of 1 minute and 04.41 seconds.
Similarly, Daigo remained 0.24 seconds ahead of Paige L Maynard of NCSA, who ended her swim in eighth place by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 04.65 seconds.
Furthermore, Matsushita was happy with her accomplishment and said that she would try hard to continue the same in future.
