Aine Matsushita impresses in Girls 200m butterfly heats – 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet
Aine Matsushita of Itoman impressed in the preliminary rounds of the Girls 200m butterfly on concluding day of the 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet at the Golden West Swim Club in Golden West College on Sunday, September 23.
Matsushita spoiled the party of her opponents as she went on a rampage in the first round of the butterfly event and paved her way to the playoff as top fastest swimmer.
With her relentless efforts, Matsushita managed to edge out her closest swimmer over the finishing wall for first position and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 16.31 seconds.
Her fastest qualification effort was chased by Aya Takano of Itoman, who stayed only 0.21 seconds behind and entered the final round as second best swimmer with a timing of 2 minutes and 16.52 seconds.
Takano was chased by Kana Daigo of Itoman, who stayed one and a half body length apart and tapped the wall for third place by producing a time of 2 minutes and 18.14 seconds.
Daigo was chased by Miku Onodera of Itoman, who stayed 0.48 seconds away from her foregoing finisher and touched the wall for fourth position by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 18.62 seconds.
Similarly, fifth position in the heats was obtained by Paige L Maynard of NCSA, who stayed 5.37 seconds slower from her former finisher and touched the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 23.99 seconds.
Maynard was followed by Corrigan C McIlmail of NCSA, who was 0.57 seconds slower and ended her swim in a time of 2 minutes and 24.56 seconds.
McIlmail remained 0.08 seconds faster from Dorothy Halmy of NCSA, who finished seventh in the race by producing a time of 2 minutes and 24.64 seconds.
Halmy was traced by Samantha Sannes of NCSA, who remained 10.10 seconds away from her preceding swimmer but managed to enter the playoff by touching the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 34.74 seconds for eighth position.
Furthermore, Matsushita was pleased with her pace in the prelims and expressed her desire of continuing the same in the playoff.
