Air Asia Documents?

I was about to purchase tickets on airasia.com website for July 3, 2008 from Singapore to Thailand but then a message appeared. It says "Please be reminded that you will be responsible for obtaining all entry, exit, health and other documents. If you are unsure of the requirements, we recommend that you contact the consulate/embassy of your desired destination before purchasing your seat. Thank you."

What does that mean I have to do? I am from the United States.

  1. It just means you're responsible for any visas, valid passports and any other documents that may be required to enter Thailand. As an American who lives in Thailand I can tell you that you don't need anything other than a valid passport that doesn't expire for at least six months past your intended stay. The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs website does state that you must have proof of onward travel and sufficient funds for the length of your stay, but on over 50 entries into Thailand I have never once been asked to show either. US passport holders are given a 30 day visa exemption, all you really need is a valid passport. Here's the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, you can see for yourself:

  2. It will tell you that in fine print on most sites where you book flights. It just means the website is not responsible for you if you do not have the correct paperwork to enter the country.

For example, valid passport, visa if you need one, if you have a pacemaker you need a document for that...and so on...
