Question:

Air Compressor Question?

Im looking at a 1 Stage, 80 gallon 4.5 HP, 14 CFM @ 90 PSI, 16 CFM @ 40 PSI air compressor. $700.00

Can someone tell me about the quality of Kobalt air compressors? I have several other Kobalt tools that are very good quality. Never used one of their compressors though. Any advice?

I will be using it mostly on the weekends for about two months. (Spray guns, cutting wheels, and about a 10 gallon sand blaster) After about two months of that. It will just be random on off use. Not very often.

  1. Kobolt makes good tools, and I have heard good things about them, but the price is a little high.

Check out Harbor Freight.com. You can get a comparable compressor for about 1/3 the price of Kobolt. Since the compressor will see light duty, don't invest a lot of money in it.

  2. Harbor Freight is a good idea but if you are going to be running a sandblaster and air guns I would suggest a 2 stage !! All you will be able to do with a 1 stage is use it a little and then let it air back up, a 1 stage cannot run a high enough constant psi for those type of tools a 2 stage definitely will!! just go to www.harborfreight.com the prices are alot lower and they carry either campbell housefield and a different brand but they are ALOT cheaper !!  You can also get an extended warranty from them!! And their customer service is second to none!!
