Ok! well as u see, i need help trying to figure out whats wrong with my a/c. Well yesterday i noticed my breaker for my a/c was flipped, when i flipped my breaker back on i turned on my a/c and now it doesnt blow cold air anymore! So i tried resetting my breaker by turing it off for 10 mins then turing it back on again. Still nothing. So i went outside to check if the fan was turning on it, yes it was. So now I dunno what to do! Does anybody have any ideas on what i can do w/o having to call the ac repairman! I really dont have the money to pay for one! :( Please help me! Thanks!

  1. check the wires on compressor.  and see if the run capacator swell up, if the compressor is hot cap or compressor shot

  2. As an experienced HVAC contractor the first thing I would suggest you do is (1) turn the unit on in the cool mode. go outside and see if the air blowing out of the top of your condensing unit is hot air, if it isn't, this is indicative of a compressor failure. Now with that said, this failure may not be due to a bad compressor, it could be due to a bad capacitor, it could also be due to a burnt wire. Alot of people here will tell you different things, however it is not their money which they are spending to fix this problem and some of them have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. If you cant resolve this problem let me know and I will walk you through it play by play

  3. Call the repairman.  Most likely the compressor has shorted out causing the breaker to trip.  The outside fan will run but the compressor will not start.  Sorry, there's not a quick fix to your situation.

  4. Once you reset the breaker and you made sure the outside unit was running, but the AC was not cooling your home...The sad news here is that your compressor is not running and is the most logical reason the breaker knocked is because something happened to your compressor...you are going to have to call a repairman to come and fix it...

  5. Was the breaker for your indoor unit or your outdoor unit and was it tripped? Is your inside blower running?

Sounds like your compressor is not running ,just your outdoor fan.
