Question:

Air Conditioner Leaking

My residential air conditioner is leaking water from the inside part of the unit. The air conditioner is still working and keeping the house cool however. I can also hear the air conditioner gurgling inside) even when it isn’t running/blasting air. I haven’t turned off the unit yet or restarted it. It is a Lennox air system. Is it possible the pump may be broken? That’s what my bf thinks it might be.

  1. Most systems have a 3/4 inch PVC white pipe outside for a drain put a wet and dry vac on this pipe for 3 minutes.

  2. If you have a condensate pump that the drain goes into,it could be the problem. If not, look for a tee fitting at the p-trap and grasp the end of it with your hand, take a deep breath and blow into your fist and into the drain. This will many times unclog the drain. But ultimately, the pan and drain line need to be cleaned and the return side of your coil need to be checked for debris.Good luck.
