Do Aerial Gunners actual fire weapons or is it more of pushing buttons in a video game setting?

  1.   The last crew served weapons were used in WW-2 the B-29 intro'd remote operated weapons. The B-52 is just about the only aircraft with defensive weapons left in the inventory. The rear firing cannon is fired like a video game from a position below and behind the pilots. It is a dead to dieing rating and has no real future in todays Air Force, Try Cyber Command for a real Future in today's Air Force.

Yeah Buddy!!!  Door Gunners do just like you saw in Full Metal Jacket "get some, get some"...  All branches have and use helicopter door gunners.  If you are looking for some in country action as a door gunner doing some shooting then I would suggest Marines, Army, Air Force, Navy, and then Coast Guard in that order.  Now if you fly in the big air craft like an Air Force C-130 gunship then it would depend on what gun system is on the air craft that you are in to decide if you are pulling a trigger or pushing a button.  When you see your recruiter just tell them what it is that you are looking to do and they will let you know if you qualify.  Good luck, hope this helps.

  3. Depends what airframe.if your on a gunship you load the guns,on a helo "if they run  they are vc,if they stand still they are well trained vc"
