Question:

Air Force Airborne Jobs?

Now I'm going to MEPS in 2 days and my recruiter said only certain air force jobs will allow you to go to airborne school and whatnot. I want airborne more than anything and was wondering if anybody knew any good jobs that allow that training. He did mention some communication jobs and Ravens(security forces) but any suggestions would be appreciated.

  1. If you want a guaranteed Airborne job.. you should tell your recruiter you will only join if he can "guarantee" one of those AFSC's... some recruiters will try to get you in, but not get you the job you want, and you end up getting something you hate doing... so dont let him smoke screen you.... you can back out anytime until you take the Oath.... tell your recruiter you're not joining until you can get a guaranteed job in the field that you want... I can't stress that enough...

  2. TACP, CCT, Pararescue, Security Forces Pheonix Raven, I'm going in as TACP because TACP get to go to both Ranger School and Airborne School and many others, heres a link to the thorough job description.

I was gonna do CCT but I suck at swimming lol I think I like TACP better anyways. TACP tech school is only 6 months long and combat control and pararescue are both 2+ years

Security Forces is probably the easiest if you are looking for easy.

Sorry about that I did forget to add weather probably because I don't know a whole lot about, it heres a link that explains the special tactics jobs in detail:

  3. The only one that Branden missed is Combat Weather.

For this you sign up for weather and then apply for special duty as a Combat Weatherman.  As combat weather you travel as a special tactics team member.

The main restriction is that Weather has one of the highest ASVAB score requirements.
