Question:

Air Force Involuntary separation question

A guy I work with(civilian job) said he signed up for 6 years in the Air Force and was involuntary separated recently after 4 years. He said something about his job specifically being slimmed down. I dont remember what his job was exactly, but does this make sense? Does anyone know for sure if the Air Force is doing this or if he is just trying to seem cool or cover up some sort of OTH or BCD? Thanks for the help.

  2. yes it is possible.  The AF has been downsizing a lot recently.

  3. It could be true--many folks have been forced out recently

  4. Could be true, could be a lie.  The fact is that the Air Force did cut quite a few jobs over the past few years but they stopped about 2-3 months ago.  He probably wasn't involuntarily separated though, those who were in the jobs being cut were given the opportunity to retrain into a undermanned career or get out.

  5. Nope he's telling the truth the Air Force cut alot of jobs over the past 5 years.
