Question:

Air Force Tech School Length?

by  |  earlier

I have a short Air Force enlistment- only 2 years- and because of this I will only be in tech school for 8 weeks or less.

Considering my scores were high and I don't have medical problems, does anyone know what jobs are left with only an 8 week tech school?

  1. We do have a two-year enlistment for certain individuals.  Normally, people who have been disenrolled from USAFA or ROTC.

And if you are a two year enlistee, the AF isn't going to spend the time or money sending you to a year long tech school.

Your recruiter should have an AFI (book) with all the tech

schools in it.  Ask him or her if you can sit down with the book.  I like 3S (personnel) and it has a six week tech school but it won't pay you much on the outside.  You might consider enlisting for four years to open up your options.

Your DD Form 785 should say if you eligible for the GI Bill.

EDIT:  What do you plan on doing when you get out?  Are you planning on staying past two?

  2. your enlistment length doesnt determine you tech school length

but most of the jobs with 8 weeks length of tech school are the admin ones, office jobs*

  3. There are no 2 year enlistments for the Air Force.  And your enlistment length does not determine how long your tech school is.

Noone joining the military has medical problems.

  4. Ask your recruiter. They will know what you qualified for.
