Question:

Air Force enlisted jobs?

I've been looking into the air force recently and have been interested in quite a few jobs. First I was looking at imagery analysis, where are they usually based and would that lead to a career in the CIA, NSA or FBI? Also what MOS's work in the space program, that would be awesome. Lastly, what job in the air force leads to a great job in the civilian world. Would it be worth it to forget about getting a job for the future and be a loadmaster, and be a cop when i get out which is what i originally planned?

  1. Imagery analysis would more than likely put you in the DC region, although Nevada and California might also be considerations.

If you want to be NSA, go for a telecommunications or, for an even surer thing, SIGINT (signals intelligence).  If you were to become "linguist" (really a language analyst, but the silly air force incorrectly calls them linguists), and avoid flight status, you'd almost certainly be at NSA, whether at the main NSA location or one of a small handful of sites elsewhere in the US or abroad.  Oh, that would of course be AFTER going through the Defense Language Institute for a year (give or take) and a quick tech school in Texas.

  2. try out for the "space cadet" job.

  3. ask about military police, into the blue

  4. If you want to be a cop when you get out, then sign up to be in Security Forces in the Air Force. Contrary to popular opinion, the Air Force does have ground forces.

  5. I believe the MOS for the space program is space operations.

  6. First off, MOS is the term used to identify jobs in the United States Army and Marine Corps. The Air Force does not use that term. They use AFSC(Air Force Specialty Code) and the Navy and Coast Guard uses the term "Rating" or "Rate".

Secondly there is no way of knowing until you actually enlist, get through basic and technical school, serve at least 2 terms of 4 years, get a high rank(Little E-1's and E-4's are'nt going to get you far).

    Speak with a recruiter.
