With Iberia and British Airways promising a very powerful bond, is Air France-KLM going to begin encountering tough competition? Which merge would be better in terms of fleet, operating revenues, destinations, market...?

  1. even though BA and Iberia will probably be merging i think that AF and KLM wont face that much competition because dont forget that KLM and AF also have stong ties with NWA so i dont think it will phase them too much.....i think personally that both alliances offer services in markets where the other is not too strong...but hey you never know!

  2. The Iberia/British Airways merger won't be something Air France-KLM needs to worry about.  Iberia flies mostly Airbus aircraft (Airbus 320 and 340) while British Airways does operate Airbus 320 aircraft for short-haul flights but uses Boeing aircraft on long-range flights.

Air France it seems operates almost every type of Airbus aircraft and also flies the wide-body Boeing aircraft.  For them and KLM merging, it should not be much problem though Air France does not operate the Boeing 737 aircraft which KLM does.

I think that KLM flies to more international destinations than Iberia and has a bigger fleet of aircraft.  I think the Air France-KLM merger is better than the Iberia British Airways merger.

  3. Air France-KLM wont face problems cause KLM's main partner Northwest in America is merging with Delta to create the largest carrier. KLM has a strong standing by its self as does Airfrance. Both are well known for their service and eye one the Customer needs.

  4. Air France-KLM-VLM wont be worred about BA and IB.

BA are hopeles and lose over 1000 bags every day at Heathrow alone, Iberia are not expactly a popular airline, especialy in Spain.
