Air India.......any feedback?

Hi there!

Has any of you ever flied Air India to/from USA? What is yuor feedback? Any good?

i never heard of any good feedback so a bit worried though it is the cheapest I can get.

Please no Indians to reply to this as I know you take defense of your national carriers! I need an impartial feedback.

I hated it.

It smelled, it was loud, and the service and food were horrible.

It's cheaper than Delta and Continental (the other 2 airlines that fly directly from NY to India) for a reason.  Honestly, Air India isn't the greatest airline.  The food is OK if you like that kind of food.  Service is so-so.  But in my opinion, I'm willing to put up with it for a cheaper ticket.  I don't see the point in paying extra for a more polite stewardess.  As long as I get from point A to point B, I'm fine.
