Air Travel - Headache?

Whenever I travel by air, i get severe one sided headache. Why & How to aviod?

  1. Take one asperin before boarding.


  2. Headaches during flying are a common malady.  It's a combination of air pressure and dehydration.  

    To best fight the headache, try this:

    Try drinking 8 oz. of water for every hour you are in the air.  That amounts to about 2 of those little cups per hour.  

    If you know that you will get a headache, take 2 ibuprofen with your first 8 oz. of water.

  3. It's probably the sudden change in air pressure (like when your ears pop).

    Try swallowing saliva or yawning every 5 seconds when taking off and landing.

    And drink lots of water. Ask the flight attendant for some.

    I travel all the time and sometimes get the same headaches too, you might want to bring some aspirin just in case!!

    Also stretching or walking around might help on long haul flights.
