Air Travel with 2 laptops?

Has anyone travelled with two laptops?

If so, how hard was it? I'll assume that you have to turn on both units at security.

Issue is, i'm taking my laptop with me on a business trip. I will be bringing back two laptops because my employer is giving me one for work.

I don't want to be without a laptop, and it will be a few days before I get the company one.

I know I should not pack one because it may get lost.

Any suggestions

  1. it shouldnt be that difficult. On your return when you have the 2nd one you will have to take both out of the case to go through x-ray.

Remember though that 2nd laptop along with your 1st would count as your other personal item/carry on and that you could not have an additional bag with you

  2. I have taken two laptops (one personal, one business). In the US, we don't have to turn them on at security checkpoints, just remove them from their cases for x-ray machine.

Hopefully both of them will fit in your laptop case. If not, two laptop cases as carry-on bags and your clothing bag will need to be checked.

Can't the new laptop be shipped to your home office (or home) by your employer? Overnight shipment?

  3. You should be fine with the two of them.  Yes, they will ask you to turn both of them on so leave some extra time for that.    They see things like that sometime.  No problem
