  1. I have flown with them, and they're no better or worse than any other airline I have flown.

  2. Well, being Canadian and having lived overseas for the last 7 years, I guess you could say I've flown with Air Canada many, many, many times.  They are no better than other domestic carriers in the USA or Canada, but internationally, if I were given a choice, I would choose another carrier.

I find that their airplanes are rather old and my biggest complaint is that there is not much in-flight entertainment.  If your flight is domestic and only a couple of hours, this is not a big deal, but on an 8hour flight, it can be a real pain (particularly for children and their parents).

Yes, you will get meals, and they are pretty decent so you don't need to worry about that.  And Air Canada to date has never lost my luggage, despite some VERY tight connections in Vancouver and Toronto.

If their flight is the cheapest, and you're willing to endure the lack of entertainment (think of one drop-down movie screen every 8 rows, everyone watches the same movie), then I say go for it.  But if their flight is not the cheapest, or you're willing to simply pay a little bit more for better service and entertainment, then you might wish to fly another carrier.  From the UK, I think your options would be Virgin, or British Airways...?

  3. I've been to Toronto and Vancouver from London.  They were ok (and on time and my bags got there).  I didn't think the service was particularly brilliant but you should get a meal
