Question:

Air conditioner leaks...

The air conditioner on my 2001 Jeep Liberty is leaking into my interior on the front passenger side. My mechanic "blew it out", twice, saying there could be a leaf or something caught in there. Both times, it was clear for a day or two, but now is leaking again. He says they will probably have to take the dash apart to find the problem...and that's very expensive. Any suggestions? (He showed me the hose where the air conditioner is supposed to leak into the engine area, and I saw water coming out...so, I guess it's only partially blocked.)

  1. under the dash on the passenger side is the evaporator which builds condensation normally and is supposed to drain out of the drain hose outside the car, if it gets clogged with leaves and pollen, the water will drip onto the floor on the passenger side. If ur mechanic blew it out and and its stuck again and if it were my car, id remove the dash and evaporator housing and clean it out thoughly. I had the same problem on a 01 subaru, instead of blowing it out those i vacuumed the hose from under the car and sucked out the debris in the drain area and it seemed to work well, goodluck
