  1. Ceiling fans, which can help warm you in winter as well as cool you in summer, are easy to install. They also cost much less to operate than air conditioning.

  2. Probably need fans to get the cold air off the floor. Ceiling fans are almost a must with air conditioning.

  3. Keeping the house cool first is the secret to good airconditioning.  You will only get a guaranteed 15 degree differential from the inlet air to the output of the airconditioner.  It can be better with new system.  If your house has reached ambient temperature of say 100 degf, you can only cool the house to 85.  Your roof 's reflective index, how well the house is sealed and insulation then becomes the determining factor for how cool the house will ultimatiley become.  If your insulation is good, the house is properly sealed, and and your roof has a high reflective index, such that it reflects the sun's energy, the house will begin to cool, but the temperature differential mentioned above will stay the same.

  4. If you tape a temperature Gage next to a out going vent, it should at least 70%. check your filter it could be gloged, change it. If that dosen't work you might need freon added, you will need to call a pro. Or your A fram might be cloged, and you will still need a pro.

  5. An air conditioner will only cool your house, or room about

15 degree's, cooler, than it is outside.

If the air conditioner, does not cool at all. Then it has lost it's

charge of "freon." and will have to be replaced, If you have not

already burned the "condenser" out. <}:-})

  6. If you have extreme hot weather an air conditioner in most houses will only cool house 20 degrees cooler than outside depending on how many airs and size of unit. One thing you could check is if the filter is dirty. Also make sure coiles are clean.Definatly can make a difference and extend life of unit. Could also be low on freon. Usually coils will freeze up too for any of these factors. If extreme heat your air may be doing all it can do.

  7. See if she's froze up.Run your fan ONLY for 30-45 minutes and turn cool off and it will clear the ice if any exists. Then run it as normal. If she was froze, she'll start cooling again till she freezes up again. If ishe was froze ,check for a dirty filter or coil.If she continues to feeze after checking the obvious call for service because it's probably refrigerant related.
