  1. Most definately as it gets very hot in the Italian cities during the summer.

    Buona fortuna.

  2. Short answer: Yes. Although you're going to spend 15 hrs a day seeing things (if that is what attracts you to Venice), July, Aug and Sept can be sticky, hot and uncomfortable. A/C will give you a lovely sleep.

Other than that, sleeping in Venice with open windows in Summer, will bring up certain smells from the canals (depending, of course, what sort of hotel you are choosing).

    Enjoy trip.

  3. yes, you definitely do need a room with air conditioning. I live in Venice mainland and in Summer it gets very hot. In July it can be from 30 to 40 degrees centigrade and the climate is VERY humid. Keeping windows open is not enough.

  4. hello, i'm a young girl from treviso, a small city near venice!!!! yes...certenly you need a room with air conditioning!!!! in june is alredy very hottt....=D in july i think is too hot..!!!! in particular this year....!! now, in treviso i stay every day in costum for tan myself!!!! =) bye bye....!! kiss

  5. 10 years ago, I would have said no, but the last 5 years has been very hot in Italy.  I've been to Venice 2X in the last 5 yrs.  some rooms may have a ceiling fan - that may work for you.  Make sure plan some late evenings as I think the best time in Venice begins at 10pm - when most tourists leave!
