  1. is it a central a/c unit or a portable window unit?  Most A/C units do have condensation that leaks from them.  If it's a central a/c unit and doesn't have a drain line..then you need to have a plumbing/heating contractor take a look at it.  If it's a window A/C unit, it should be tilted out the window enough that the water drips outside, not down the inside of the wall  The warmer it is, the more water will come from them.  it's the condensation that builds up from the compressor working so hard on the unit.

  2. air conditioners drip water regularly from condensation.  all they can leak is the coolant.

  3. yes they all produce water when they defrost normally, they drain into a pan in the bottom of the unit and the heat from it produces causes the water to evaporate.

  4. check the water piping.. it must have clogged by dust or insects.

  5. You need more information for anyone to give you a good answer.  Window or outside unit, leaking outside or inside house, ask the question again with more info next time.

  6. Unless your air conditioning system has an internal de-moisturizing component, some amount of external dripping will be there. Check with your specific air conditioner brand or have it checked by a mechanic for other problems.
