Air force base question?

Im almost certain i read somewhere that is you volunteer to be stationed at a remote base in somewhere like Korea or japan for a year, that after the year is up you get to choose which base you can move to? can someone confirm and elaborate on this?

The AF did not offer one specific follow-on assignment when I was in but if you left 3 or 4 on your follow-on assignment sheet, you would nearly always get one of them.

That is what we did. My husband went to Korea for a year-everyone has to do it sooner or later-and we got a base from the wish list, in Germany.
