Air force remote to korea questions?

My husbands been in the air force 15 1/2 years. 14 1/2 were all spent at the same base. We are looking to move. He went to korea (the one year not spent here) and was sent back here. So we decided to try again, he put in for Korea Osan and Kunsan (went to osan last time) and the selections come out between aug 21 and sep something. If he gets orders to korea, how long until we find out about the follow on? and if we get a follow on, i know you can move to the follow on first, how does that work? I know someone that lives in housing here while her husband is in korea, so i know its possible to move to the new base and get into housing before he leaves. also how likely is it to get something on our list as the follow on?

We have had 3 BOPs and 2 special duties turned down. It tuens out there was some course status code from a class he had to take in 2001 jamming up his records, making it impossible to get orders for anything we applied for.

  1. When your husband gets picked up for Korea, he will have to go to a briefing and he will be given the opportunity to apply for his follow-on at that time. I think I had ten days to turn in my choices.  I found out very quickly that I got my second choice.

The follow-on will be included on the orders when they are published.

  2. The AF will put him where they need him.  He could try going through his MAJCOM or career Field Functional manager about getting an assignment...or having the code removed.
