Which pellets do the most damage in a high velocity and power (1200 fps) air gun??

  1. First of all, 1200 fps from a springer is very rare. I assume that's the kind of gun you're talking about. With that kind of power you need a heavy pellet to be accurate, lighter pellets won't even come close to hitting the target because it's too light. Dome pellets will be more accurate and stable in flight than pointed, hollow points, or even pellets that are a gimmic. (Gamo pellets)

    These two pellets will work the best as far as accuracy and weight is concerned. That's if the guns actually shoots 1200 fps like you said. If not, you're spring won't last very long.


  2. anything. do not be conned into buying copperhead ones as they eat barrels, and they're rubbish. standard winchester hunting pellets work nicely, genaral rule of thumb is the heavier the better, though firing heavier pellets will drop your FPS the impact energy at the target will be greater.

    some heavier pellets include the beeman crow-magnum or the really heavy kodiak-magnums, i'll assume you want to kill things, so pointy pellets are a good idea, though they do make some with other profiles that pack a wallop.
