  1. If you are not getting good answers, you may consider asking on airliners.net since that site is geared specifically toward airline people.  However, it is $25 to join that site.

I have never had that job, but I had an office job for an airline in the US that no longer exists.  My understanding therefore pertains more to the US, but:

    * Over here the salaries are not good.  The longer you have been there, the more you are paid.

    * If you change airlines, you start over at the bottom of the seniority list, and at the bottom of the pay scale.

    * This is not specific to this career, but I would think any time an interview goes badly, your chances of getting the job are not very good.

    * The course will involve a lot of safety training, such as how to administer basic medical care, and what to do in an emergency.  This will likely take place in a mock-up of an airplane, or in an old airplane that doesn't fly anymore.  You will deploy the emergency slides, etc.  You will probably also need to memorize things such as which cities the airline flies to, etc.  In this day and age, I'm sure you will also go over how to handle angry customers.
