okay what is a round trip and a one way trip

see i want to o to cal. then come back wihtout buying tickets here and there

i just want to buy tickets to go there and in a few days come back

i want to buy them at the same time

Buying a ticket that takes you to a destination and then brings you back to the start point is called a round trip.  Example:  Chicago to Miami on X date and Miami to Chicago on Y date.  Most tickets are round trip and almost all (if not all) of the airline websites are set with round trip as the default selection.

    Buying a ticket without a return is a one-way ticket.  Example:  Chicago to Miami on X date.
