Air plane?

im going to switzerland in the spring but im afraid to fly across the ocean. am i the only one?

I'am scared of a air plane cause Aaliyah died on a air plane god rest her soul I have been thinking about Aaliyah eva since she the plane crash I have kept my prayers for her

I'm a commercial airline pilot and i meet people every day who are afraid to fly.

As far as the Aaliyah thing....there is no reason to be afraid of that. what i believe happened in the crash was they over loaded the plane with their equipment and that over stressed the aircraft

and made it slowly loose speed until it stalled (when there is no more air flowing under the wing so the plane will not stay a loft anymore)

What happened in that crash, could never happen in commercial airplanes because the pilot verifies the load weight (to calculate take off speed), there is a load master who cross checks the weight as everything is loaded on to the plane, and finally there are computers that check that the load is with in the weight restrictions. That's the whole reason they have a 70lb weight limit for each passenger.

There is no reason to be afraid of flying, there are almost 200,000 flights each day and on every one we have our bases covered.

Also if your coming to switzerland fly Swiss, i fly on the A330 and the A340, maybe I'll be the one to take you there.

And if you still cant get over your fear, you can always take some sleeping pills to knock you out for a couple of hours.
