Air to Air heat pump or electric furnace with wood add-on ??

Question

ok i want to heat my new house its 3 levels basement,ground level and top level around 3300 sq feet was looking at heat pumps there around 15k canadian and I'm not sold on there performance reason being i live in a cold climate and also i don't need A/C or i could go with electric furnace with wood add-on cost around 4.5k unsure of the installing cost and also getting wood to burn is not a concern so if anyone could tell me whats better and if they know around what installation of the ducting,chimney and what not would cost me just ball park figure

I'd consider costs beyond installation. Your insurance will rise dramatically if you have a wood-burning heater. Maintenance is also a concern.

Heat pumps don't work well below 40 degrees F.  Your best bet is a dual fuel outdoor wood furnace. I know several people with wood furnaces that are very satisfied.  Indoor wood furnaces are an option if you have a lot of space.
