Air vent cleaning question?

Hi,

I bought my house a year ago and it still has the smell of the people that lived there before us...not bad...just not 'our' smell. Anyways, if I get my air ducts cleaned professionally you think that would help freshen the place up?

I agree with the first answer to your question.  In my experience, cleaning the HVAC ducts may be helpful if the house’s prior occupants were smokers – otherwise it is not money well spent.  Try cleaning the carpets (and consider having it professionally done); scrubbing floors & countertops, and vacuuming everywhere (including in the registers, the termination point for the ducts).  This will help to rid the house of old smells.

No please don't.It'll be a waste of money.Time will help the most as will painting the walls and ceiling.Good luck.
