i read that air vietnam had a taiwanese crew optg on a leased aircraft. but the aircraft was reportedly always parked separately from the rest of the air vietnam fleet and the taiwanese crew never mingled with the mainstream staff. any reason for that? were the taiwanese crew air vietnam employees? why was the leased aircraft painted differently from the rest of the fleet and parked separately?

  1. Air Vietnam has several European pilots - never heard any thing about separate colored planes, Taiwanese, etc., sounds bogus to me.

  2. This is all a guess but as for mingling, maybe the Taiwanese crew did not speak Vietnamese and the Vietnamese flight crew did not speak Mandarin Chinese or Taiwanese.  You would think that even if the Taiwanese flight crew were flying for Air Vietnam, they would be their employees.  As for the aircraft being painted differently, sometimes airlines paint some of their aircraft differently because that aircraft is special or they are promoting something.  For example, Cathay Pacific has painted one of their 747 aircraft with a skyline of Hong Kong on it.  EVA Airlines has painted one of their aircraft with Hello Kitty characters.  Many airlines have at least 1 aircraft that are painted differently from all the others.
