hi,

I am interesting especially about the engine related aircraft accidents/incidents...but the ntsb or similar websites reports are not my asking...I want to read notes reported by the airlines themselves...past, I had seen some of them, e.g. about the blade failures and the investigations, etc...

do you know where can I find these reports or if u have any of them, I would be grateful if you could make me have by email or web sites...

have a nice day everybody...

  1. Well, contrary to media reports I believe the BA crash landing is due to pilot error. A similar incident happened with an Airbus some 22 years ago during a fly past at Sessenheim in France. There the ALS was left on and the plane did not 'obey' the pilots manual input. I assume the same happened at Heathrow.

  2. The NTSB that investigates all crashes has a database of everything on their website.  Very technical though.  www.ntsb.gov then click on aviation

  3. Assuming that the BA accident was pilot error with what little information you have is just plan ludicrous.  I can think of a number of things that may have affected the outcome of the flight, not the least of which might have been a downdraft or microburst.

Anyway, that wasn't the question that was asked.

I am not familiar with the airlines releasing that information to the public.  Most of the airlines and the aircraft manufacturers like to keep that stuff to themselves.  So the NTSB is going to be your best bet for free information.  If you don't mind looking and possibly paying for the info, try these sights:

    http://aviation-safety.net/index.php

    http://www.airdisaster.com/

    http://www.aopa.org/asf/accident_data/in...

    Those should get you started.

  4. I would be interested in reading these myself, but the airlines keep most of these reports under lock and key, and will never be released to the public.  It helps keep the communications lines open for internal reporting systems.

Some accidents can be attributed to inadequate company policies in some areas.  The airlines will not incriminate themselves to the public like that - the media would jump all over it and blow it completely out of proportion.

If pilots or mechanics knew that anything they told their employer during an investigation would be released to the public, most people would not say a word... and the airlines could not use that as a tool for improvement.
