  1. If you're curious as to how high you're flying at any given time, just ask. You could be anywhere in the mid to high 20s to the low 40s. It depends on a lot of things such as how the ride is, headwinds, tailwinds or how heavy you are.

  2. There are set altitude corridors for aircraft travelling to different places.  For example over the north atlantic east bound aircraft utilize the jetstream airflow in the 20,000s and westbound go above or below (flying into the stream uses lots of extra fuel).  The international body for air traffic (iata??) governs such things.

  3. usually between 30,000ft and 35,000ft.

  4. Go to wikipedia and check the aircraft used by the airline, then check their specs.

Airlines are regulated as to the maximum service height they can fly. You can find that on Wiki too.

    Good luck.

  5. 30 thousand to 40 thousand feet

    (10-12 kilometers)
