Airfare sales to the Caribbean or Central America? Need help with affordable airfare.....?

I'm having a horrible time finding affordable airfare this summer for the month of August. I would love to go back to Belize, but I can't find affordable roundtrip airfare. I have to buy two roundtrip tickets and the cheapest flight including taxes and fees has been around $550 each. I have put in for flexible dates and checked a few different airlines. I would also travel to a different destination in Central America or the Carribean if the price was right. Please help and give any insight have you regarding sales or deals. I really appreciate it, thanks.

Spirit Air will start flying to San Pedro Sula, Honduras in late July. They have a fare $64 each way from Fort Lauderdale. I've heard that delta and continental have lowered their fares as well to Sula. It's a cheap 2-3hr bus ride to the cities of Tela and La Ceiba on the Caribbean Coast. Tela is nice for its beaches, La Ceiba great for river rafting/ecotourism jungle lodges. From La Ceiba can take a ferry (one hour, $25) to Roatan or Utila, where they have spectacular scuba diving and snorkeling. Also, you'll spend a lot less money on rooms in Honduras than in Belize.
